DIRECTIONS
Piopio lies on State Highway 3 between New Plymouth and Hamilton (just
over an hour from each). Mairoa road heads north from SH3 in
the middle of town. The turn off is opposite the Vet Clinic and the
Four Square. Our farm is 5 kilometers along Mairoa Road at the very
bottom of the second hill. Look for the Waitui signpost. The homestead
is up the left drive and is visible from the road.
Public transport links can get you to Piopio.
Intercity
has a regular service that runs between Hamilton and New Plymouth that
will drop you at the local garage. If you wish to travel by train the
overlander
will take you as far as Te Kuiti. There are no connections along Mairoa
Road and alternative transport will have to be arranged. It is likely
that if you can make it to Piopio we could arrange travel to
our farm. However it is strongly recomended that you travel by car as nearly
all the sites in the King Country are accessible only with your own
transport. It is also the best way to see the rest of New Zealand.
